Johnny: It's an intelligent action movie. It's funny. It has great humor. It's not the kind of action you've seen a million times, I don't think. You know, it's very unique to Robert, his vision.



Johnny: It was exciting, you know, to sort of be in the ring with Antonio and Robert, and playing opposite the Mariachi. It was also fun to be able to call him "El."





Robert: I had this character that was just wacky, I mean, he starts with three arms and ends with no eyes and it's just this really bizarre, twisted, dark character. I didn't know who would play him when I wrote him, but when I looked at the list of actors I've always wanted to work with, he (Johnny) was at the top of the list. So, I thought, he usually doesn't do action movies - stays away from action movies, but I think he might like how twisted this character is, and sure enough, that's what he responded to.
