"When I met Johnny, I knew right away that he was the one. I had a feeling about it. I didn't really know his work. I'd never seen '21 Jump Street,' but I'd seen pictures of him and then Denise and I, the producer, met him and knew right away, just from meeting him, that he had that sort of quality. You just see it in his eyes and that was sort of an important aspect to the character in terms of not having to say anything and just being able to project something simply, much like a silent film actor."
